The actress and musician, who spoke to Gayle King on ‘CBS This Morning’ tested positive for COVID-19 in March and has since recovered.
Rita Wilson says that wearing a face mask during a pandemic should be as normal and unquestionable as brushing your teeth twice a day.
“Why wouldn’t you wear a mask if it’s good for your health?” she asks. “Has no sense”.
Wilson, who spoke to Gayle King on Friday CBS this morning, was one of the first Hollywood figures diagnosed with COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, in March, along with her husband Tom Hanks. In April, the actress chatted with King and revealed her symptoms, which include extreme fatigue, body aches, irritability, discomfort, loss of taste and smell, and a 102-degree fever.
After recovering from the illness, both Hanks and Wilson have expressed the importance of following CDC measures, such as wearing face shields in public, which has since become a hot topic.
“I don’t understand why something so easy to do has become a problem or something that people are facing,” Wilson told King.
Wilson’s feelings reflect those of her husband, who raised the issue during the promotion of his movie Apple TV +. Greyhound. From appearances in A late show with Stephen Colbert In virtual travels for the war movie, the actor has echoed the idea that wearing face covers is the least the general public can do to combat the spread of COVID-19.
King wrapped up the interview on Friday by putting his own two cents on the subject.
“You know the mask is uncomfortable. But do you know what else is uncomfortable? Dying,” said the CBS this morning said the host.
