Well that was fun 22 hours or so.
Remember Friday when the President / CEO of the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game went on the radio and said they were exploring the possibility of Notre Dame replacing USC on the Alabama calendar in Week One?
It made some sense since Notre Dame also has a cancellation with USC and who knows if the Navy will be allowed to play outside of the conference contests in 2020.
It has been said that the ACC and the SEC are working together to save as many of their clashes as possible this fall and with Notre Dame likely getting assistance from the ACC to complete its agenda, it made sense from the outside.
Until he was undoubtedly knocked down on Saturday by the Alabama Athletic Director.
So that’s it.
Notre Dame may or may not be playing the Navy in Annapolis in Week One, but we certainly now know that they won’t play Alabama unless it’s in the postseason.
That was fun while it lasted, but I have a feeling this is the tip of the iceberg for rumors of possible agenda fillings that are about to head to Notre Dame.
Should we start a “Notre Dame Schedule Rumor Tracker” here?
So far it reads:
Happening:
Who knows, maybe Miami (FL)
It is not happening:
Wisconsin or any Big Ten team
USC, Stanford or the rest of the Pac-12.
Alabama
It has a chance of happening:
Miami Florida)
Any other unscheduled ACC equipment
