tower of God director Takashi Sano put together a Rick and Morty anime short film with the help of Telecom Animation Film.
Rick and Morty vs. Genocider It is an eight-minute short film that tells of Morty’s trip to Japan to find his grandfather. While the art style in it is not what you would normally associate with anime, it is unique and certainly different from what we are used to, keeping the Rick and Morty style.
The two Japanese voice actors for Rick and Morty reprized their roles for the short. While Morty’s voice actor Keisuke Chiba is known primarily for her role as Morty, Rick’s voice actor Youhei Tadano has appeared in many different series, such as New animal and Megalobox.
The canonical correlation of the short with the series has yet to be confirmed, but with the number of different deadlines and versions that Rick and Morty have, it is not entirely impossible that the events in the short would occur.
Season 4 of Rick and Morty It wrapped up earlier this year and Season 5 is on the way.
