Reviving Nintendo Game and Watch, one of the oldest handhelds since the 80’s

The Game & Watch Watch portable console, first introduced in 1980 and manufactured by 1991, was responsible for putting Nintendo on the map. It was the loudest cry of today’s Nintendo, which regularly puts out the best-selling games, connects people online and uses the aged reality from toy cars.

Game & Watch was a series of handheld games that Nintendo sold before falling in love with Game Boy. At the time, Black & White Game & Wach was the only sports game.

The new Game and Watch Watch takes on an original shape with its red and gold design, but is charged via USB-C and comes in shades. It plays three games: “Super Mario Bros.” “Super Mario Bros .: The Lost Level” and “Ball (Mario version).” Only the “ball,” juggling game, remains black and white.

Fans of any “Super Mario Brothers” game will immediately recognize the iconic music.

Multiplayer mode for Game & Watch means you can play as Mario first in “Super Mario Brothers”. And then let a friend or family member take the console to play as Luigi. None of this is modern as it connects to the internet business here.

As the name suggests, the Game & Watch console is also a literal clock. By tapping on the time button, it will display a clock, with Mario jumping around.

Game & Watch was not Nintendo’s first attempt at video games, it was the first success leading to the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985 and Game Boy in 1989.

The Game & Watch is not celebrated like some of Nintendo’s other game systems, but it was the first system to feature a + shaped directional pad, first seen in 1982 on the “Donkey Kong” Game & Watch. Its success also gave handheld gaming some legitimacy, a feature of which video game makers were obscure in the 1970s.

Nintendo has plunged into the Game & Watch nostalgia bucket over the past decade by releasing a version and placing an anonymous character named Mr. Game & Watch in his “Super Smash Bros.” appearing in many early games and games. Games.

The company has recently re-released. In recent years, it has sold classic versions of NES and Super Nintendo, complete with dozens of games and original controllers. Now, Nintendo is in full celebration mode: it’s Mario’s 35th anniversary. The company announced a number of product launches, including the new Battle Royale game and the re-release of “Super Mario 64,” “Super Mario Galaxy” and “Super Mario Sunshine”.

Now it’s Game & Watch’s turn in the spotlight. Game & Watch’s 40th Anniversary Edition November 13, is on sale for a limited time and retails at $ 49.99.
