There are three main conclusions of “Returning to Cali”. First and foremost, Governor Perry and the Duttons have devised a solid plan to stop Roarke.
Jamie will move to the attorney general and Kayce will take over as livestock commissioner. It will allow Dutton’s eldest son to find a way to use the law to stop construction of the airport.
The Duttons face their greatest enemy, and it is clear that the Governor supports John. However, that doesn’t guarantee much of anything. Roarke is ready to roll, and the Duttons have never faced a challenge like the one he presents.
Jamie taking over as AG and Kayce taking over as livestock commissioner might be the only plan that can work.
Second, we learned that Beth cannot have children! We don’t know exactly why, but she clarifies to Rip that she cannot bear children.
Friends, I think we are about to find out why Beth and Jamie hate each other so much. My theory has always been that Jamie forced her to abort when she was younger because she was pregnant with Rip’s son.
In my interview with Wes Bentley, he did not confirm anything, but said it is a “devastating” reason.
Something tells me that is where we are going. Either way, we now know at least one of the demons that haunts Beth.
Eventually, some stupid bikers decided it was a good idea to fight the barrack crew. When Rip tells them to leave or that they will never leave again, they return at night with gas.
Their plan to burn John’s field was sideways when they fell directly into a trap. In what was an epic scene filled with great quotes, John and the team have the bikers dig their own graves. Just when you think they are going to be executed, John lets them go with a stern warning that Montana does not want them.
Similar to the wolf scene, a couple of episodes with Kayce, it’s clear that John’s words are much more than just the bikers.
The biggest mystery to me right now is what is Rainwater’s goal here? There is a new woman working with the tribe, and it is clear that she is thinking of getting a little dirty.
However, he would be lying if he said he knew what he was going to do. I have no idea, but it looks like this woman is going to be a problem.
