SEATTLE – Patriots fleeing the return of James White’s father Tyrone died in an om tomobile accident in South Florida on Sunday, the Broward Sheriff’s Office confirmed to the Globe.
Tyrone White was captain of the Miami-Dade Police Department. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that the two victims were airlifted to hospital after an accident in Cooper City, southwest of Fort La La Dardell.
According to reports, White’s mother Lisa was also in the car and her condition is serious.
White was notified of the accident and was inactive for Sunday night’s game against the Seahawks.
The Patriots captain and one of the team’s most popular players, one of the best receiving backs in the White League.

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson had a message of support for White before the game, tweeting, “I pray for you bro.”
It has been a tragic week for the Patriots family, with the death of coach Bill Belichick’s mother, Janet, last Monday, and Belichick’s longtime girlfriend, Linda Holiday, losing her father, days later.
