Restrictions on private gatherings eased in California – NBC 7 San Diego


The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) released a new guideline Friday that now allows as many as three homes to be included in a private gathering.

The guidance is in effect Saturday in San Diego County. The updated plan replaces previous assembled guidelines issued on September 12th and March 16th.

The guidelines state that gatherings must be out-of-town and should be kept to a minimum as it reduces the risk of contracting COVID-19. The guideline also states that the host should collect the names of all attendees and contact information in case of contact tracing if required.

The outdoor spaces are covered by umbrellas, umbrellas, foodings, roofs and other shade structures, provided that at least three sides (or 75%) of the space are open, says the CDPH website. .

Additional guidance includes:

  • For any gathering under this guidance, the space must be large enough for everyone at the gathering to maintain a physical distance of at least 6-feet at other times (not including their own home).
  • Seating must provide a distance of at least 6 feet between different houses (in all directions – front-to-back and side-to-side).
  • Everyone who gathers should wash their hands frequently with soap and water, or use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available. Participants must have a hand or hand wash area available for use.
  • Shared items should not be used during aggregation. As much as possible, any food or drink at outdoor gatherings should be in a single-serving disposal container. If it is not possible to provide a single-serve container, food and beverages must be served by a person who frequently washes or sanitizes hands and covers the face. Self-serving items from communal containers should not be used.

Anyone with any Covid-19-like symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, cold, night sweats, sore throat, ause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, confusion or loss of sense of taste. / Smells, should stay at home and should not come in contact with anyone outside their home, the CDPH guidelines said.

Anyone who develops COVID-19 within 48 hours of attending a meeting should notify other attendees of possible contact as soon as possible.

People who are at high risk of serious illness or death from CIVID-19, such as older adults and people with chronic medical conditions, are strongly encouraged not to attend any conventions.
