Republican Rep. Yoho heard profane comments about AOC; Hoyer says he should be “sanctioned”

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer issued a severe condemnation of Representative Ted Yoho after he reportedly entered into a heated exchange on Capitol Hill with left-wing Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that allegedly ended with Yoho pronouncing the words “f — — b —-.”

“The comments related to me were negligible,” said Hoyer, D-Md. “Unacceptable. Mr. Yoho owes the congresswoman not only an apology, but an apology on the floor of the House.”

He added that Yoho, R-Fla., Was acting as a “bully. It was the antithesis of John Lewis. He needs to be punished.”

The Hill first reported the encounter, in which Yoho and Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., were reportedly walking the opposite direction on a set of stairs. The Hill reported that Yoho called Ocasio-Cortez “disgusting” for comments he made about crime in New York fueled by pandemic and poverty rather than lack of vigilance.

“Do we think this has to do with the fact that there is record unemployment in the United States right now?” Ocasio-Cortez said in a virtual town hall with The Hill earlier this month. “The fact that people are at a level of economic despair that we haven’t seen since the Great Recession?”

He added: “Maybe this has to do with the fact that people are not paying the rent and they are afraid to pay the rent, so they go out and need to feed their children and have no money, so …” they feel they need to steal some bread or go hungry. “

Those comments angered many on the right, who noted that protesters tore down statues, vandals that defaced businesses and government buildings, and a significant increase in murder rates in many large cities probably have little to do with people trying to put up food on their tables.

Yoho said he was “beside himself,” to which the congresswoman replied that the comments were “rude.”

The Hill reported that shortly after the two continued on their way, Yoho made the comment “f ——- b —-“.

Ocasio-Cortez reacted to the meeting on Twitter on Tuesday.

“I never spoke to Representative Yoho before I decided to harass him on the steps of the nation’s Capitol yesterday,” he said. “Believe it or not, I generally get along well with my fellow Republicans. We know how to review our legislative bout at the committee gate. But hey,” b —– s “get things done.”

Ocasio-Cortez also accused Republican Texas Rep. Roger Williams of “yelling at me for ‘leaking urine’ as well.” Williams’ communications director Heather Douglass questioned that claim.

“The congressman did not participate in the exchange between Congressman Yoho and Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez, nor did he listen to what was said in their conversation,” he said. “Any comments heard or attributed to Congressman Williams were part of a separate conversation that he and Congressman Yoho were having. Congressman Williams would have immediately condemned that kind of language towards any colleague.”

Fox News has contacted the Ocasio-Cortez and Yoho offices, but received no immediate responses.
