UPDATE, 4:04 PM PT: The view of the Republican National Convention fell on its third night to 17.3 million viewers across 11 networks, when Vice President Mike Pence delivered his acceptance speech.

That is, according to Nielsen, comparable to 19.4 million viewers from the previous evening.

According to early Nielsen numbers, an average of 15.7 million viewers watched in the time frame from 10 PM ET to 11:15 ET over six networks. That is comparable to 18 million who watched on Tuesday in the same period, when First Lady Melania Trump spoke of the Rose Garden in the White House.

Last week, the third night of the Democratic National Convention drew 21.4 million over these six networks, in an hour that included an acceptance speech by Kamala Harris and remarks by former President Barack Obama.

The third night TV viewers for the GOP convention are also down about 31% off the same day in 2016.

Fox News again led all networks, with 7.07 million viewers, followed by NBC with 2 million, ABC with 1.9 million, CBS with 1.78 million, CNN with 1.52 million and MSNBC with 1.48 million. In the 25-54 demographic, Fox News led with 1.38 million, followed by NBC with 595,000, ABC with 534,000, CBS with 497,000 and MSNBC with 311,000. The figures were released by Fox News. Like they had other nights this week, they garnered more viewers than the three broadcast networks combined and MSNBC and CNN combined.

Nielsen is expected to release additional data later Thursday with viewing of additional networks.

The figures do not include streaming via streaming like other digital platforms.
