Reports – Ravens to Host Dez Bryant for Training

The Baltimore Ravens are expected to host former Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver Dez Bryant for training this week, according to multiple reports.

The workout was first reported by NFL Network. Ravens coach John Harbaugh would not comment on the reports when addressing reporters Monday.

Bryant, 31, has not played in an NFL game since the end of the 2017 season, when he was released in part by the Cowboys due to a base salary of $ 18 million and declining production.

Reign NFL MVP Lamar Jackson throws to one of the youngest wide receiver groups in the NFL. No one is older than 27.

Baltimore’s depth at wide receiver took a hit last week when backup Chris Moore broke his finger. He is expected to be out for a few weeks, Harbaugh said.

“My only comment I have is that we have no comment on workouts,” Harbaugh said after the practice when asked about Bryant. “We are looking for everyone everywhere all the time. Whoever we bring, if the training happens once, I’m sure that will be announced.”

The Ravens were previously associated with Bryant. In April 2018, Bryant refused a multi-year offer from the Ravens because he wanted a bigger one-year deal, according to ES WNN’s Ed Werder.

Baltimore’s top three wide receivers are Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, Willie Snead IV and Miles Boykin. Ravens wideouts were a total of 1,419 yards received last season, the lowest for that position since the 2011 Jacksonville Jaguars.

After signing a five-year, $ 70 million deal in 2015, Bryant slowed down through injuries that kept him out of the combined 10 games in 2015 and 2016. He hit 69 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns in 16 games in 2017.

He had worked out at a facility near the Cowboys’ headquarters in Frisco, Texas, because he was trying to return after two years away from game action due to a torn Achilles. Bryant suffered the injury in his first practice with the New Orleans Saints in 2018. He was not on a roster in 2019, but has regularly worked out for a comeback.

The Cowboys selected Bryant in the first round in 2010, and he is the career leader of the franchise in touchdown receptions with 73. He hit 531 passes for 7,459 yards and was a three-time Pro Bowl pick in eight seasons with the team .
