One of the most popular streamers on Twitch Guy “Dr DisRespect” Beahm was reportedly banned on Friday. In early March, Dr. DisRespect signed an exclusive multi-year agreement with the streaming platform. Leading Esports informant Rod Breslau released the news on his Twitter account.

Twitch prohibits Dr. DisRespect
This comes days after Twitch made an announcement about the streamer allegations. Twitch was in strong heat for not taking the actions that its community wanted. Finally, on June 24, the broadcast platform made an announcement on its official blog that the accused would be permanently banned if found guilty.
After the announcement, several streamers were permanently banned from the platform, including popular names like BlessRNG, Wolv21, WarwitchTV, and IAmSp00n.
Twitch has not provided any updates on Doc’s ban, nor has it indicated how long the ban would last. They released a rather confusing statement on the subject.
Twitch statement on @drdisrespect ban: “As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a transmitter has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. This applies to all transmitters, regardless of their status or importance in the community. “

Rod Breslau made another tweet on the matter. Perhaps he knows the exact reason behind the ban, but has refused to let it out due to sensitivity around the matter.
Look: For several hours I have been told by credible sources why DrDisrespect has been banned. However, due to the importance and sensitivity around the subject, I have refrained from continuing. I’m not comfortable with that currently

DMCA guidelines are not the problem
The exact reasons are still unknown. Initially, some believed that the ban could be due to a violation of DMCA guidelines. The DMCA guidelines compelled streamers to remove any content that could be taken as it infringes on copyright infringements. However, Rod Breslau in a later tweet ended rumors that Dr. DisRespect’s ban is not based on a DMCA violation.

Reimbursed subscribers
Twitch began issuing refunds to Dr. DisRespect’s subscribers after the ban. Breslau also reported that the Discord association has also been removed. He also shared an Instagram post from Doc’s wife, which looks like a message for Doc fans.

Dr. DisRespect has yet to comment.
Dr. DisRespect was previously banned for approximately two weeks by Twitch in June 2019. During that year’s E3 event, he broadcast live from the men’s room that led to the temporary ban.
The Doc had gained a large following thanks to his charisma. He had over four million followers on his Twitch account. Twitch’s change is alarming to any potential transmitter that has violated its guidelines. Having banned someone of high stature in the community makes a great statement in its own right.
Dr. DisRespect has not commented on the ban so far. Hopefully more details about the incident will come to light in the coming hours.
