Reports: Christian Wood embarks on rockets in sign-and-trade

Christian Wood grabbed the league’s attention last season by pushing the piston away from injury.

Houston is completing its se fission uncertainty with a small, unfamiliar talent on the free agent market.

According to E-SPN’s Adrian Wozniacki, the Rockets have signed a free agent deal with Pistons big man Christian Wood. Wood, 24, averaged 21.9 points, a 9.4 rebound average and shot 40.8% from a 3-point range in that role when pressed into the starting lineup for an injured piston.

The move will try to rebuild the Rockets’ frontcourt after Robert Cuewington traded in Portland in exchange for Trevor Ariza and two first-round picks. Meanwhile, superstar guards James Harden and Russell Westbrook have all been asked to trade.
