BROWNTON, MIN (FOX 9) – A reported tornado was approached Friday night near Brownton, Minnesota.
Brownton, Minnesota is located about 12 miles south of Hutchinson in McLeod County.

Earlier in the night, a tornado watch was issued for west central Minnesota due to storm surge. There have been several reports this evening of possible tornadoes in the area, however, tornadoes have not been officially confirmed after the National Water Service completed a survey in the following days.
Viewer Nate Reznechek posted a video of a possible tornado as a water spray over Green Lake in Spicer, Minnesota.
Another possible water jet appeared over Lake Lillan, which is in Kandiyohi County and about 30 miles west of Hutchinson.
