Report: Detroit Lions will sign 1-year deal with Adrian Peterson

The man who has long been a thorn in the side of the Detroit Lions is finally changing curiosity. According to some sources-First reported by Josina Anderson– The Lions will sign Adrian Peterson back for a one-year deal.

Peterson will rejoin offensive coordinator Darrell Bevel, who was their first coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings back in 2007. He will come in soon and fight for the power back role, which currently appears to have been taken over by Bo Scarborough. At the moment, no corresponding move has been announced, so it is unclear whether Scarborough’s job is safe.

Although he is 35, Peterson and Washington are starting a somewhat successful year in Washington. He ran for 898 yards (4.3 YPC) and five touchdowns.

It remains to be seen how he will fit into the rotation with second-round picks D’Andre Swift and Carian Johnson, but for now, the Lions have found themselves a very talented runner, giving their dashing attack a new dimension.
