Report: Detroit Lions Cutting DT Kevin Strong, WR Victor Bolden, D Virgin, TE Matt Sokol

The Detroit Lions have made their first somewhat surprising roster cut for the 2020 season. According to Detroit News, Defensive tackle Capin Strong is being pardoned by the team.

The 53-man roster of the Lions was made last season as a caravan fool outside the University of Texas at San Antonio. Strongly made eight game appearances in 2019, defending five tackles and one pass.

With John Atkins out of the season and Jason Cornell injured at the end of the season, it looked like Strong had a chance to improve the roster. However, the Lions recently brought in some defensive linemen who may be more fit to look for lions in cows like Kevin Wilkins, Will Clark and Albert Huggins, whose team claimed an apology earlier this week.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the Lions notified Strong that they wanted to bring him back to the practice squad upon clearing the apology.

In addition to Strong, the Lions are also forgiving Victor Bolden and De Virgin, According to Mike Rothstein of ESPN. Bolden deep nanda was stuck under the huge receiving corps of lions. Virgin, on the other hand, snagged sn sn sn on special teams last year, again leading to the role of big special teams. However, with the addition of Tony MCray this season, who has previous experience with new special teams coordinator Bryden Combs, Virgin may be a bit futile on this year’s roster.

Update: For Rothstein, the Lions also forgave tight end Matt Sokol. With Isaac Nauta and Hunter Bryant injured early in the camp, Sokol made plenty of promises for Rookie. Unfortunately for her, it wasn’t good enough. However, this could be good news for Nauta, who performed two major plays during Wednesday’s scholarship.
