Today sees the coming of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition on the Nintendo Switch. As part of this, Square Enix has released a special Lite version of the game that is available on the eShop as a free demo.
This Lite version lets you play through a “substantial chunk of the beginning of the game” and see and hear the various enhancements – including enhanced speech stories, visual enhancements, and an updated soundtrack.
However, it does not end there. The Lite version also lets a maximum of four players (with this version) play the first three dungeons together (of course you need an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription). It also supports cross-play with PlayStation 4 and smartphone users.
If you happen to know someone who has a full copy game and you have the Lite version installed, you can join them as they travel through 13 massive dungeons. If you want to continue playing extra dungeons offline, you will need to upgrade to the full game yourself. Keep in mind – save over.
