Reese’s Kevin Cash poses a clear threat after being severely beaten by the Yankees’ Aroldis Chapman

The New York Yankees managed to close the door on the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night, winning 5-3 with Aroldis Chapman in the ninth inning.

Chapman’s appearance in the final frame, however, came with some fireworks.

Flamethrower fired a 99-mile fireball into the head of Race Better Michael Brosso during their match. After Brosco left, he went back to the dugout and had some words of choice for the Yankees players. He signaled for both benches to be cleared, although no fight broke out.

Rays manager Kevin Cash made a clear threat to the Yankees after the game.

“Someone has to be responsible,” Cash said. “And the last thing I will say on this is that I’ve got a whole whole lot of people who throw 98 miles. Period

An atmosphere of heat was created between the American League East rivals. Masahiro Tanaka hit Yee Wendell with a fastball in the first innings. Both Cash and Wendell believed it was intentional.

“As far as the real motive behind Chapman’s delivery was concerned, I’m not really sure, but honestly very disappointed,” Brosso said. “He doesn’t want to see you coming inside the bench, especially when we need to take a message for us after we let everything go and did like a man, kind of just took it and moved on with the day. But if there was a motive behind it and they wanted to send another message, I think they made their point. ”

Yankees manager Aaron Boone and infielder DJ Lamheu were both knocked out by Cash’s comments.

“That’s a pretty scary comment,” Boone said. “I do not think so. But right now I’m not going to get into that. ”

Lamehi added: “His manager’s comments, he makes a quick round in our clubhouse. Naturally that’s a very serious threat. It looks like he’ll try and throw at us tomorrow. We’ll be ready.”

The Yankees are 2-7 against the Rays this year and are trailing through 3.5 games in the Al East.
