On Friday night in Milwaukee, the Cincinnati Reds lost both Nick Senzel and Pedro Strop to injuries. Senzel, the Reds starting center fielder, seemed to feel something in the first inning as he went 1st-3rd – arrived on the third and appeared to try to expand a bit after joining the bag comb. He stayed in the game, but after his at-bat in the top of the 4th inning, he was replaced in the lineup and he did not play on Saturday, and he is not in the starting lineup on Sunday. Strop took the mound later that night to start the 8th inning, but in the middle of an at-bat he felt something in his body and had to be removed from the game.
Before the game on Sunday, manager David Bell talked about both and had some good news and some not-so-good news.
“He is doing well. He will be good, ”Bell said of outfielder Nick Senzel. “I do not know where he will be available today, he’s going out and testing it. But again Tuesday. ‘
However, the new one was not so good on the Pedro Strop front.
“Pedro, I think he’s going away here a little bit,” Bell said. ‘No final decision, he is still active today. He is not placed on the IL, but he will need some time. “
No move has been made yet. That means the team will likely assess the situation when they return to Cincinnati and not seek to make a move until Tuesday when things look like the referee will have to miss some time.

Things changed quickly with Mike Moustakas. For the game on Sunday, manager David Bell notes that they are still shooting for Moustakas to start on Tuesday. But an hour later, the team placed Moustakas on the injured list, retroactively until Thursday. The team has also recalled Tejay Antone, but he is not expected to play until Tuesday when the Reds play their next game.
The rotation changes, again
David Bell also spoke about the rotation coming on the off-day on Monday. From Tuesday onwards, the rotation will start as follows:
- Tuesday – Luis Castillo
- Wednesday – Wade Miley
- Thursday – Anthony DeSclafani
- Friday – Sonny Gray
- Saturday – Trevor Bauer
