The Cincinnati Reds bounced back from a terrible game on Thursday night in Cleveland by hitting the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night. But not everything was good despite the blowout win. Nick Senzel left the game with a walk and later in the inning went 1st to 3rd on a single from Matt Davidson, but seems to feel a bit between 2nd and 3rd base. However, he remained in the game. He assisted the Reds rally for six runs in the 2nd inning with a sacrificial fly. In the 4th inning, Senzel struck out, and when the bottom of the inning began, he was replaced in the field by Travis Jankowski. The Reds announced that he was leaving the game with left-handedness.
However, that was not the last time the injury error appeared for the Reds. Pedro Strop came out to start the 8th inning. He ran Orlando Arcia to start the inning, and then mid-by-bat against Brock Holt, Strop also suffered a groin injury and he left the game, and was replaced by Lucas Sims. Sims would complete the at-bat against Holt with a walk, but that was imposed for Strop. A double play followed, but Christian Yelich homered, resulting in both Strop and Sims getting a deserved run.
According to the game manager, David Bell said he had not yet received an update on both Senzel and Strop or the extent of their injuries. “We have to see tomorrow (Saturday) how they both are.”
Before the game, Bell had some sort of update on second baseman Mike Moustakas.
“Continue to just get treatment,” Bell said. ‘Hopefully we will have him back at all times. We really shrugged to get him back to start a game by Tuesday after the off-day at this point. ”
He later explained that he was not available with pinch-hit.
