Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC it’s a long game. Depending on your playing style, it varies from 50 hours to almost 200 hours. The game campaign not only has a lot of meat on the bone, but it is of an extremely high quality. It is one of the best single player games of all time and also one of the most ambitious games ever created. And at one point, it was apparently more ambitious.
Over the course of development, especially with a game the size and ambition of RDR2, the content is cut, including the content of the story. In the past, Rockstar Games revealed that more than five hours of content was finally cut from the game for a myriad of reasons.
Speaking about some of this cut content to our sister GameSpot site, Roger Clark, the man behind Arthur Morgan, revealed that there is a mission involving Arthur, his Dutch boss, a train, and the couple that takes some bounty hunters out of Boston. they did not. make the final version of the game.
In addition to this, Byron Davis, the man behind the aforementioned Dutchman, said he spent a lot of time on the mission and was sad to see it disappear.
“We spent a lot of time on that. That was going to be … oh, I hate that it was cut,” Davis said. “It was cut because I suppose they couldn’t do it.”
While the mission sounds great on paper and in Davis’ memory, it’s not surprising to hear that it was cut. Rockstar Games has a high bar, and as Clark mentions, the developer is willing to kill something when necessary. And Davis echoes this point, too, noting that Rockstar Games let go of many “good things.”
“When you work with Rockstar, you never have to worry. Because everything that doesn’t work, they don’t use,” Davis said. “The amount of good things they released is … well that’s too much information.”
Unfortunately, we will probably never see this content or any additional content for a single player. Red Dead Redemption 2. While Rockstar Games has supported Red Dead online, has not touched the game’s individual player from a content perspective since its release. And it doesn’t seem like this is going to change.
Red Dead Redemption 2 It is available through PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia. At the time of publication, there is no news of a PS5 port or Xbox Series X publication.
