In resint Red Dead Online patch intended to fix some issues with the naturalist update has completely destabilized the game instead, according to players currently trying to load in the wild west. The problems are huge, some have plagued the game in the past, and some are completely new.
Many report a complete shortage of characters and animals populating their servers, making Red Dead Online a bit of a ghost town (which has been a problem in the past.) Horses seem to be the only friendly faces on whom ‘ t players can count at the moment, but often the horses are also completely glitchy. Fans researching the new update share clips of invisible horses, horses entering and exiting the reality phase, horses in flames, horses running in place, and more. It’s better than the time Red Dead fans were left with large piles of dead horses, but not by many.

Some players say they can’t even shoot right now, depending on what you’re aiming for – which makes it impossible to complete quests or specific roles.
@RockstarSupport so someone should mention that Red dead online now something seriously broken, you have no animals spitting 75 wagons, crashing into each other, you can not call your horse, if animals spawn you can shoot or seduce, all roles are off, come on guys!

They make it hard for me from Red Dead Online, now we can not even shoot at animals, making Trader and Naturalist roles impossible to participate in. Not to mention I can not even enter my moonshine shack. Oh and now my game crashes often too.

The game is 100% unplayable, you have to take a while from.gta and pit red dead back to a playable state can not enter my glitter house. I can not shoot or focus on what camps will not appear. Like damn. Half assed update caused it all to be about gta.

@RockstarGames Congratulations, you broke Red Dead online. Can not fish, can not hunt, no NPCs, can not use horses or call, missions are bugged, can not do damage to NPCs and so on.

Perhaps the funniest – if not strangest – problem fans encountering right now is the sudden uncluttered appearance of a bald man. There are no NPCs except this bald man in some lobbies. Sometimes he looks like a real person, sometimes he looks like a transparent ghost. No one can explain it.

Others report a number of crashes and errors at this time as well. A Rockstar representative tells Polygon that the developer is aware of the recent issues, and has put up a support page that says they are working on a fix. For now, most players seem to be clear on the update, because you really can not to do all without NPCs, animals, horses, or the ability to shoot.
