Record high 353 coronavirus cases reported; 27 in Fairbanks Borough | Alerts

Alaska has the largest single coronavirus case reported to date – 353 resident and non-resident cases.

The state-of-the-art state-of-the-art Covid-19 data dashboard, which is updated daily by noon, also showed 27 new cases reported to Fairbank North Star on Friday. A summary of the state’s case count is pending for the day.

Friday’s rise in the case was the second major in two days. On Thursday, the Department of Health and Social Services Alaska announced that 242 new people have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Most of Thursday’s cases, 143, were in Anchorage. The rest were scattered across the state.

The state’s case count report said the two cases are under investigation.

Three of these cases were reported as ineffective in English, Fairbanks and Designated Place.

A total of 59 people are currently being admitted to seven new hospitals in the state on Thursday, according to Alaska’s Department of Health and Social Services.

The COVID-19 data hub shows that internally, five people are hospitalized and two out of 20 ventilators are occupied.

Four patients at the Alaska Psychiatric Institute in Anchorage tested positive for Covid-19, according to a state news release late Friday night.

“API is working closely with the Alaska Department of Epidemiology to contact and implement additional infection control measures to protect staff and patients.” “This brings the total number of cases at the facility to eight since the onset of the epidemic: three staff members and five patients.”

At least eight regions of Alaska, including the Farbknx North Star Borough, are listed as high-alert for COVID-19 transmissions.

Saturday’s report covers the 24-hour period ending at 11:59 a.m. Friday.
