Real Madrid wants to sell midfielder Dani Ceballos to Arsenal

Real Madrid wants to use Dani Ceballos to raise more funds at a time of economic uncertainty in football.

It’s been an eventful season for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos at Arsenal, but when a club like Arsenal was involved, it was always going to be a whirlwind.

The Gunners recently defeated Manchester City 2-0 in the FA Cup, and have been on the rise since replacing Unai Emery with Mikel Arteta. The former Pep Guardiola protégé has helped Arsenal a lot, and the team’s rise has aligned very well with Ceballos’ resurgence in form.

Ceballos has been playing a key role for Arsenal in the final stretch of the Premier League season, and the Gunners would like to keep it on for another year. Arteta is becoming fond of the skillful and hard-working midfielder, who has become important to the defensive team.

According to a report by Kike Marin of El Confidencial, Arsenal has asked Real Madrid for another loan for the 23-year-old former Real Betis star. However, Florentino Pérez wants to sell the player, because he feels that the team needs more money due to the serious financial situation.

Real has already sold an even more successful loan at Achraf Hakimi to Inter Milan, earning € 40 million from the deal. With Ceballos, they could only get half, although its value was actually 40 million euros before the financial crisis caused by COVID-19.

Big Premier League clubs like Arsenal are among the few teams that can afford to make transfers this summer, and they could be losing some stellar players like striker Alexandre Lacazette.
