Raptors assistant coach Adrian Griffin is responding to allegations of domestic violence

The Toronto Raptors and assistant coach Adrian Griffin responded accusations of domestic violence by Griffin’s former wife, Aubrey Griffin, on Thursday.

De accusations came via a tweet from Aubrey on Thursday morning after Griffin’s first career NBA head coaching victory on Wednesday night.

In the social media post, Audrey said that Griffin subjected her, threw her into a wall, assaulted her while she was pregnant, abused her children, threw objects at her and sexually transmitted her diseases.

Griffin denies the accusations, according to a statement he released Thursday afternoon through the team.

“This morning, accusations were made against me on social media by my ex-wife that I vehemently denied,” Griffin said in the statement. “We have been involved in a long-standing legal dispute over arrangements and childcare arrangements. I am disappointed to be making false accusations in this way, and I apologize for any distraction this has potentially caused our team at this important time. “

The Raptors said they met with Griffin today to discuss the allegations.

“When we saw these accusations this morning, we were scared; Adrian is a valuable member of our team. Our leadership spoke to him immediately, and he flatly denied the allegations in the messages. We will support the process because he and his former partner are in charge of these matters, “the statement said.

De accusation was not the first time Audrey has used social media to attack Griffin.

On June 2, she tweeted that Griffin was abusing her and her children.

On May 20, she tweeted that she was being dragged while she was pregnant, dragging in front of her children and her almost consciously without being suppressed. She does not mention Griffin in this tweet.

She also said earlier that Griffin did not pay child support.

One of Griffin’s sons, Alan Griffin, who plays basketball in Illinois, tweeted support for his father after Griffin won his first NBA game on Wednesday as the Raptors’ head coach.

Griffin was the Raptors’ acting head coach on Wednesday night, leading the team to a 125-121 victory over the 76ers.
