Law enforcement sources told TMZ … Early Friday morning, a deadly shooting erupted outside the Monaco Hookah Lounge in downtown Atlanta, with two groups of men arguing with each other.
Our sources say there were on-duty Atlanta police officers at the club and an on-duty cop patrolling nearby … and police also opened fire as they confronted the gunmen.
Overall, our sources say 6 people were shot, 3 of whom remained at the scene and were rushed to hospital by EMS. We are told that the other 3 people escaped, but they also ended up in the hospital.
Three people, including King Vaughan, died from their injuries … according to a close friend.
We have been told that no police were injured in the shooting, which is now being investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations and the Atlanta Police Homicide.
It is not clear who shot King Vaughan, but sources say investigators are trying to find out who shot him.
