Oct. Here’s a look at the coronation of “Positions” on October 23 released on Republic Records as the title track of Grand’s new album, released in ’30. The song is No. 1 in the 62-year history of the Hot 100.

Grand has made history as the first artist with five Hot 100 No. 1 debuts. She extended her lead with Justin Bieber, Maria Carey, Drake and Travis Scott, three each.
Grande also became the first artist with three No. 1 Hot 100 debuts in a single year, joining “Positions” with “Rain on Me” and “Stuck with You” as his 2020 chart-topping entrants.
Earning all three in a span of five months and two weeks, Grande hurried Travis Scott (shy of a week in the year 2019-20) to enter the No. 3 Hot 100 first.
Grande’s third number this year: Grande is the first artist to send three songs to the 100 Hot 100 in one year, which Drake then tripled in 2018. She is the first woman (and acting other than just Drake) to achieve this feat since Rihanna went on to number one. 1 with four songs and Katy Perry did the same with three in 2010.
The Beatles set a one-year record in 1964 with their first six Hot 100 No.1.
10th No. 1 Debut of 2020: “Positions” is the 45th single starting at No. 1 on the Hot 100. This is the 10th time this has been done in the year 2020 (all from April), more than doubling for the highest number of records in a single year, with four songs entering No. 1 in both 1995 and 2018.
18th number of 2020: “Positions” is the 18th song to be ranked number one on the Hot 100 for the first time in 2020. This year is also the highest total number of songs sung in 2007, like 18, which was also done in the year 18. The 24K Golden’s “Mood”, featuring K Na Dio, came in at number one on the Hot 100 at number two two weeks later, with 79 million radio reach, 19.2 million streams and 7,000 sales. The song ranks first on radio songs, where it is the first leader of every act. Completing an eight-week journey to the top of radio songs, it wrapped up the first-ranked rapid growth this year, and only eight weeks were needed to reign in November 2019, following Lizo’s “Good As Hell.” “Mood” Tops Multi-Metric Hot Rock and Alternate Songs and Hot Alternate Songs Chart for every 10th week and Hot Rap Songs for the third frame.
Drake’s “Laugh Now Cry After,” featuring Lil Dirk, after making his debut at the top of the 100, drops 3-4 on the Hot 100. Together they hit No. 1 on the Multi-Metric Hot R&B / Hip-Hop Songs chart, where Drake achieves his 21st leader, the highest number 1 in the alliance with the late legend Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder (20 each).
