You probably know the story now, but when Minicraft’s Steve Super Smash Bros. earlier this month. When he joined the Ultimate roster, fans quickly discovered that the place of the meat on his victory screen was very unfortunate. It quickly rounded up on social media and became one of the biggest gaming stories of the day – because of the internet.
It’s actually fixed now – in the game’s latest patch Steve is now tearing his flesh instead of hanging it – but Phil Spencer, head of the Xbox brand at MicroSt.

Of course, Minecraft and its developer Mojang are now part of the Xbox family, so it’s interesting to see that Spencer clearly had no idea that this screen was present in the game until it was released. We especially like that last line, which we can only imagine saying with the slightest disbelief: “I believe it will be fixed.”
