Raiders sole proprietor Mark Davis voted against the NFL’s plan to cover seats near the field: “I’m not ready to give up yet.”

Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis may think a “bubble” is necessary for the NFL season to happen, but he doesn’t endorse the league’s decision to cover the closest seats to the field in advertising.

During an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Sunday, Davis revealed that he was the only owner to vote against the new proposal.

“I can’t imagine telling a fan that they can’t attend our inaugural season opener in Las Vegas at the most magnificent stadium they helped build. Much less tell 3,500 fans that their seats are no longer available throughout the season, “he said, according to a report by Clutchpoints.com.

The NFL has not released official news about fan attendance for next season, but Davis said his organization provided a “creative” solution that would allow fans to sit close to their favorite teams.

“Creativity will be necessary. … One of our executives found a solution, one that Las Vegas will be familiar with. But the league shot him down contemptuously. But we are not ready to give up yet. We will do our best to see that all of our fans can attend every game this season, ”he said.

Davis also said during that interview that he doesn’t see how the season will unfold unless the NFL adopts a “bubble” format, a sentiment shared by many.

“You can keep players away from fans, but you can’t keep players away from players,” he said. “That could be our Achilles heel. Without some form of a bubble, we may be asking for trouble. ”
