Rachael Ray’s house fire in New York started in her chimney, officials say

A fire that broke through the renovated home of famed chef Rachael Ray in New York started in a chimney-chimney, officials announced Friday.

The state Office of Fire Prevention and Control said the fire on Aug. 9 at Ray’s home in Lake Lucerne, NY, was accidental.

The flame sent flames through the roof of the house, at the end of a private drive in a rural area, about 60 miles (97 kilometers) north of Albany.

More than a dozen local firefighters worked to put out the flames. No firefighter or any of the household members were injured.
