Rabbi Yasserl Mir Lau is infected with the novel coronavirus, despite receiving two shots of the COVID-19 vaccine, his grandson Yedidya Lou tweeted Saturday evening.
He described the former chief rabbi of Israel as “feeling great.” He said Rabbi Lau was infected by his wife, who was expected to have a confirmatory defense of the virus earlier in the week.

Lou, who is 83 years old, had already been given the first and second doses of the Pfizer vaccine. Vaccination is for people to be vaccinated against the virus. However, in some cases, the virus is still infected and it is possible to pass it on to others without showing any symptoms.
