Queen Elizabeth could probably have made a cameo in ‘The Parent Trap’

Can’t deny The parent trap is one of the most popular Lindsay Lohan movies. Heck, it’s probably one of the best Disney movies of the 1990s. There’s not much that can be improved, but imagine if Queen Elizabeth II appeared in the movie? Directed by Nancy Meyers, a deleted scene from the film featured Hallie crossing paths with the queen.

Marking Lohan’s film debut, The parent trap It hit theaters on July 20, 1998. A remake of the 1961 film of the same name, Lohan had an ambitious task of portraying the two main characters, Hallie Parker and Annie James.

Long lost twins, the girls attend the same summer camp. Upon discovering the truth, they hatch a plan to change places. When summer ends, Hallie heads to England pretending to be Annie, while Annie, raised in Britain, travels to California.

Your goal? To find out why their parents separated and separated the girls. The dream? May they reunite their parents and live as a happy family.

A deleted scene from ‘The Parent Trap’ features Hallie meeting Queen Elizabeth

Like any other movie, there are scenes from The parent trap That did not make the final cut. One of them is a scene where Hallie, pretending to be Annie, is being driven through London with Martin (Simon Kunz), the butler. After pleading with her to stop at Buckingham Palace, Martin agrees, but not before commenting that she sounds like an American tourist.

Hallie jumps out of the car and drops her fake British accent as she talks to one of the Buckingham Palace guards. Then, to Hallie’s surprise, the guards begin to move and the palace doors open. I’m not sure what to do. Hallie stays where the queen suddenly greets her.

A fun moment and certainly a memorable experience for Hallie, Meyers decided to cut the scene because, according to E! News, she felt “slowed down the pace of the movie.” Fans aren’t necessarily unhappy with the decision, either. On YouTube, viewers commented that they are glad the scene failed to cut because it seemed too unrealistic.

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip attended the film’s premiere.

When The parent trap It had its premiere in London, in the list of guests were none other than Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. They showed up for the premiere and met the cast, including Natasha Richardson and Dennis Quaid.

Richardson bowed to the queen upon meeting her according to royal protocol.

And, judging by the photos, they had a brief conversation.

If Hallie and the Queen scene had stayed in the movie, it would have been an interesting start to the conversation at the premiere. And, who knows, maybe the queen would have made a brief appearance in the movie if she had known about the scene.
