Gatineau police spokeswoman Marianne Leduk said Sunday she faces charges of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
A woman was also arrested for refusing to identify herself, but was released as soon as she was complied with, Laduk said. Police said it was possible the woman could face charges.
The two officers responded after receiving a complaint about a party at a Gatineau building at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Leduk said.
He said the two women answered the door and refused to cooperate with officers. Leduk said he failed to produce his ID when asked by officers, which could lead to a felony charge.
A video taken by someone else in the house on Friday was posted on Twitter on Friday and shows officers in a confrontation with a man at the door. The screams can be heard in the background.
Another man who was inside the house can be seen trying to catch the man by taking him out.
Later in the video, officers are seen physically restraining men outside the home as backup officers arrive and keep talking to some of the women inside the home.
CNN News partner CBC reported on Saturday that the video was made by Matthew Tassier. Tessier told the CBC he believed the police had used excessive force. He denies that he attacked any officer.
Tessier admitted to CBC that he took the risk by collecting the leave, but he believed that if officers had been called, he would have received only a warning and a polite request to break up the party. “The police can’t do to us what they can. They treat us like criminals, like animals,” Tessier said.
Leduk said six adults were fined દરેક 1,000 each, in addition to 54 6,546 Canadian dollars, for violating public health laws.
He said the man who was arrested allegedly “charged” officers and tried to drag an officer inside the house.
No one was injured in the incident, and everyone was released at the scene after they calmed down, Laduk said.
