QB Shedeur Sanders, son of Deion Sanders, commits to FAU


Cedar Hill (Texas) Trinity Christian four-star quarterback Shedeur Sanders will play college football as head coach Willie Taggart at Florida Atlantic. He is the son of NFL Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders.

Sanders announced his decision on various social media platforms.

The 6-foot-1, 198-pound Sanders is ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the country’s No. 14 professional passer and No. 219 prospect overall. He reported 25 bids throughout the process that included people like Alabama, Arizona State, Baylor, Central Florida, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, LSU, Michigan, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and UCLA .

Many of the programs listed have already received their call sign in this 2021 recruiting cycle. For Taggart and company, they get a quarterback who took Cedar Hill (Texas) Trinity Christian-Cedar Hill to earn degrees in each of the past three seasons and has thrown 8,796 yards and 123 touchdowns to just 19 interceptions in those seasons.

Sanders’ promise was added to a Florida Atlantic class that already ranked No. 1 in the US Conference rankings The program seeks to finish at the top of the league rankings for a third consecutive cycle. Sanders himself is the top-ranked prospect to commit to the Owls program in 247Sports history.

Elder Sanders played 14 seasons in the NFL where he was a nine-time NFL All-Pro pick and a two-time Super Bowl champion. He was a member of the NFL’s 100th anniversary team and is widely considered the best cover cornerback of all time. His No. 2 is retired at Florida State, and Sanders also played nine years of Major League Baseball, and his appearance in the 1992 World Series marks him as the only athlete to have played in both the Super Bowl and World Series.

Sanders’ older brother Shilo signed a letter of intent to play cornerback for Will Muschamp and South Carolina in the class of 2019. He saw action in four games last fall as a true freshman who allowed him to retain a Red shirt.
