FLORIDA Publix joins the list of retailers that require customers to wear face masks.
Publix made the announcement shortly after Target and CVS announced Thursday that their stores will require skins.
Walmart made the same announcement for its stores and Sam’s Clubs on Wednesday.
The Publix mask policy will take effect on July 21.
“As the number of coronavirus cases continues to grow and the current guidance from the CDC that facial coatings can help curb the spread of COVID-19, we believe that requiring facial coatings in our stores is another way of doing our part. to help protect our communities. ” Publix director of communications Maria Brous said.
Signs will be placed at store entrances announcing the new policy, along with reminders of in-store announcements.
The new requirement will not apply to young children and those with medical conditions who cannot wear face masks.
Publix has also implemented other security measures, such as one-way aisles, 6-foot increments at checkout, and Plexiglass shields on the registers.
