Psychonauts 2 receives a new trailer with Jack Black, delayed until 2021

Developer Double Fine has given us another look at upcoming Psychonauts 2, but it seems the platformer has been delayed from an original release from 2020 to 2021.
The new trailer (voiced by Jack Black) was revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase. It details some of the 3D platform games we can expect from the game, but no release date was mentioned. Psychonauts 2 was delayed until 2020 last year, but now it looks like the game won’t launch until 2021. This is according to an Xbox Wire post published last night that says, “Psychonauts 2 launches in 2021 on Xbox Game Pass, Windows PC, Mac, Linux and PS4. Best of all, it’s optimized for Xbox Series X. “

Psychonauts 2 was first announced in 2015, and development was funded through a crowdfunding campaign. The game experienced subsequent delays with an initial 2018 release window that was delayed by a year. Microsoft acquired Double Fine in 2019. Double Fine delayed the sequel again until 2020, so it could add things to the game, such as boss fights, that had been cut to save money.

Psychonauts 2 is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2021. The game will also be available to play on the Xbox Game Pass.
