PSA: Remember to update your Joy-Con as well as your Nintendo Switch

Yesterday, as you probably already know, Nintendo released a new system update for the Switch. Version 10.1.0 is one of the smallest updates in recent months and sees the return of sweet Stability improvements.

However, not only has the system itself been updated. It turns out that a new update is also available for Joy-Con controllers. Nintendo has not shared any information about any changes or adjustments made to the controllers, so you should only investigate this yourself.

Here’s how you can perform this update:

How to update your Nintendo Switch Joy-Con

one) Make sure the Joy-Con you want to update is connected to the console.

two) From the Start menu, choose ‘System Settings’. Then choose ‘Drivers and Sensors’ on the left side.

3) Scroll down to ‘Update Drivers’, press it and let the console do its thing. Be sure to repeat all steps for all of your Joy-Con.
