Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was the most anticipated title this year. Along with the current-gen console, it was released on November 10, 2020, for the Xbox Series X / S and PS5.
In terms of games running at higher resolution, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X perform similarly. As a result, the discussion surrounding the PS5 vs. Xbox Series X has largely narrowed down to either the console’s loading time.
YouTuber JorRaptor compares Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s fast travel time and boot time on both the next-gen consoles:
At first glance, the PS5 will outperform the Xbox Series X in loading Ubisoft’s latest action RPG. However, understanding some of the key aspects of both consoles helps us better analyze the comparisons.

PS5 loads AC: Valhalla way faster than Xbox Series X; Does it show the real picture?
Here is the loading time of the AC: Walhalla now on the next two consoles:
PS5– 51.93 seconds
Xbox Series X.-1 minute 26 seconds
Note that the PS5 XB Series X leaves some loading screens unlike the Series X. Microsoft .ft’s next-gen console shows multiple loading screens displaying Ubisoft and its engine, adding about 30 extra seconds to its loading times.
Interestingly, there is minimal difference in fast travel time to the same location:
PS5– 11.90 seconds
Xbox Series X.– 11.83 seconds
Therefore, it is safe to assume that the PS3 and Xbox Series X can run Assassin’s Creed: similar to Valhalla. The PS5’s custom-made SSD can have a slight advantage in loading games; However, no significant changes were made while playing the game.
How fast is the next-generation console compared to the current mass-console
Jorraptor also compared the loading times of the Series X and PS5 with the Xbox One X. Surprisingly, the current-gen console is nowhere near the next-gen console in terms of speed and performance.
It takes 2 minutes and 50 seconds to load the Xbox One X Valvalha and more than 50 seconds for fast travel within the game. These numbers are enough to prove how the next-gen console will revolutionize the game.
