Princess Beatrice looked absolutely stunning at her royal wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The discreet nuptials had a minimal guest list and took place in the All Saints’ Royal Chapel at Royal Lodge in Windsor.
For the special occasion, Beatrice opted for a vintage ivory gown made of Peau De Soie taffeta and embellished with the Duchess’s ivory satin. The dress, which belongs to Queen Elizabeth, was designed by Norman Hartnell and then personalized to the needs of the bride. It features organza sleeves, diamond trim and a geometric checkered bodice. The bride’s dress was the perfect royal bridal look, and shared some similarities to Princess Beatrice’s mother’s wedding dress.
Sarah Ferguson married Prince Andrew on July 23, 1986, in a Lindka Cierach gown. According to the Los Angeles TimesThe Duchess of York’s gown was “adorned with the bees and thistles on the bride’s coat of arms.” The publication continued: “Anchors and Waves, to honor her new husband, a Royal Navy officer, were embroidered on the 17 1/2 foot train, centered with her monogram, a large A. Four S, for Sarah, they were outlined in beads on the beaded bodice. ” While Beatrice’s dress did not feature these personal touches, there was some overlap between the dresses.
Mother and daughter opted for wedding dresses with partial sleeves, which they complemented with full veils. Both dresses also featured the Duchess’s ivory satin, were similarly shaped, and included intricate embellishment and fitted bodices.
Beatrice and Mapelli Mozzi’s wedding ceremony was small due to the coronavirus pandemic, and was attended by close relatives, including Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
