- Kate Middleton and Prince William are debating whether or not to send Prince George to boarding school.
- It is a real tradition to send children to boarding school when they are 8 years old.
- Prince George can attend the Ludgrove School in Berkshire, England, as did Prince William and Prince Harry.
- The Cambridges have a year to decide.
Most people don’t even know what school will be like this year, but Kate Middleton and Prince William are already planning ahead for Prince George. The little royal is 7 years old this month, which means he will likely be sent to a boarding school next fall.
Prince George is currently enrolled at Thomas’s Battersea in London, but according to royal tradition, when he turns 8, he is a boarding school! He is expected to follow in the footsteps of his father and Uncle Harry and join the Ludgrove School “Berkshire, England and Eton College” full-time interns for high school, but royal expert Ingrid Seward said OK! that this is a decision and tradition that the Cambridges will weigh “with great care”.
Despite the fact that 8 is only a year away from George, Ingrid said: “I doubt that the royals will have to go on any waiting lists, so they won’t have to rush their decision.” Furthermore, she is not convinced that royalty even feels the need to send her elders to school.
She added: “I think they will wait to see how children’s personalities develop and will consider whether they would be happy to live away from home or not. Having experienced terrible trauma in his own childhood, William is very much attuned to the their children’s mental health. I think William and Kate’s opinion will be, if the kids are happy in their school, why change things?
The pandemic has really thrown everyone into a loop, so time will tell if it’s safe to send Prince George to boarding school next year.
