  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle agreed to stop using their HRH (His Royal Highness) titles after they resigned as royalty.

  • On Harry’s sustainable tourism coalition website, Travalyst, he is no longer known as “His Royal Highness the Duke of Sussex”, but simply “The Duke of Sussex”.

  • At a Travalyst event in February, he asked attendees to “call him Harry.”

Prince Harry sticks to a commitment he made earlier this year, after he and Meghan Markle announced that they would resign as members of the royal family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex agreed to “actively” use their Royal Highness titles after their transition from royal job duties, and both have subsequently fulfilled that agreement. The last instance: Harry’s sustainable tourism initiative Travalyst website has been updated, as Persons reports. The site previously said the initiative was “led by HRH the Duke of Sussex”; now it reads “led by the Duke of Sussex”.

In an official statement on their website, the Sussexs established how they would change their titles once they resigned. “As agreed and established in January, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will retain their prefix ‘HRH’, thus being formally known as His Royal Highness the Duke of Sussex and his Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will no longer actively use their RHS titles as they will no longer be active family members as of spring 2020, “the statement read.

Harry made headlines at a Travalyst conference in Edinburgh, Scotland earlier this year when he seemed to reject his old royal titles. Introducing him, journalist Ayesha Hazarika said: “He has made it clear that we should all call him Harry. So, ladies and gentlemen, give Harry a great Scottish welcome.”
