Criticism from the media and the public took its toll on the couple, and their hope for a more peaceful existence has been fulfilled to some degree, but will they ever really have the privacy they desire? Since they are former royals and the public still has an interest in Harry and Meghan, it is unlikely that they can avoid the spotlight entirely.
Former royal protection officer Simon Morgan spoke to the Really us Podcast and shared their views on what the couple can expect in the future. When asked if he believed they would have the level of privacy they wanted, Morgan shared: “Unfortunately not, and I think a lot will depend on how they really relate to people in terms of the common person on the street and in the media. and how much access do they allow with that. “
He continued: “The more you retire, the more people will want to know what you’re up to. It just becomes that fascination. “
There will always be interest in Harry and Meghan
Morgan also shared how the protection team surrounding “people of wealth, visibility, and status” has to empower them to “live their normal lives or the life of their choice.”
He continued: “It would be very easy to say, ‘Never go out, never talk to anyone and we will put you behind the wire and protect you.'” This is not how people want to live, so the work is always, I think, in the protection team. “
