  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently moved to Montecito, Santa Barbara, California.

  • Harry and Meghan made the move from Los Angeles to Montecito because Harry wanted more privacy.

IDK as you may have heard, but Prince Harry and Meghan Markle booked it out of Los Angeles the first chance they got and just bought a shiny new home in Montecito, Santa Barbara … just an hour’s drive from their former property. Although it may seem sudden, Montecito always sat on Meghan and Harry’s radar, apparently.

“Meghan visited Montecito in her teens and fell in love with the picturesque landscape and beautiful architecture,” a source said Us weekly. “Moving there has always been an option, but to begin with, she and Harry wanted to give Los Angeles a shot.”

“Loose Los Angeles a shot” ended up not going well for a few reasons. “Unfortunately, Harry absolutely hated it – the timing was so wrong in the middle of it [coronavirus] pandemic and they do not lack privacy, “the source added.

The good news is that if Meghan and Harry ever miss Los Angeles, it’s a short car ride away. “An added bonus is that Montecito is only more than an hour’s drive from LA, which is where a majority of its work is based, yet far enough away to escape the crowds, paparazzi and tourism in Hollywood.”

And moving to Montecito has another unspoken advantage for Meghan and Harry – making more financial distance from the rest of the royal family. Harry was able to raise his father Prince Charles from some ~ financial aid ~, but he certainly opted for it. But why? Because “his father’s financial involvement would result in the royals having control over him. It would mean you go backwards,” a separate Us weekly source reported.

Fingers crossed Meghan and Harry get that love privacy they are looking for!
