Prince Charles and Princess Diana had a troubled marriage

When Charles and Diana started dating, there was a lot of pressure on the prince to find a wife. Although he was not in love with Diana, he was reportedly receiving pressure from both the press and her father, Prince Philip, to put her on a ring. After only 12 dates, Charles proposed.

They both wanted to cancel the wedding

Charles and Diana should never have been married. And both reportedly wanted to cancel the wedding, but neither was able to do so for fear of backlash. Diana reportedly told her sisters the night before they married that she no longer wanted to move on; They told him it was too late to change his mind.

Sources state that Charles had always been concerned about marrying Diana and felt that the two were not suitable for each other, but he was in a position where he needed to find a wife to keep up appearances.

Charles reportedly referred to Diana as ‘a girl’

According to Express, royal expert Ingrid Seward agreed, even adding that Charles’s friends felt the wedding would be a “disaster.” According to reports, one of Charles’s friends, Penny Ramsey, also said that Charles knew deep down that he and Diana had nothing in common.

Diana supposedly didn’t want a divorce
