If you’re looking for a great deal on a dedicated e-reader, Amazon will again get a nice discount on some of its Kindle e-readers as part of its Prime Day 2020 The Kindle Paper White will be close to 80, or $ 50, its all-time previous low by 5. It’s a prime day deal we think a lot of readers will benefit from.
If that’s not the type of Kindle deal you’re looking for, Amazon also announced that the Kids Edition of its entry-level Kindle, which is now a unified light, will cost from $ 110 to $ 75 or $ 35. The Kindle Kids Edition includes one case and one year of Amazon’s Kid Plus subscription service, valued at 36.

In addition, Amazon will offer a 5 credit for “any Kindle book” with the purchase of selected Kindle devices.
Like other Prime Day sales, this one is also on Tuesday, Oct. It is expected to start at 12:01 a.m. PT on the 13th and run for 48 hours. If you don’t see the deal you were hoping for, don’t lose hope – experience has shown us that Prime Day Kindle has more deals.
It’s not clear if the High-Kindle Oasis or the Baseline Kindle (except for the Kids) are on sale, but we’ll keep an eye on their prices as Amazon often skips previously undisclosed deals (a power deal or two) On its devices in Prime Day. This is Goldilocks in Amazon’s lineup and a selection of our current CNET editors in the category. Here are some things we like about Kindle Paper White:
- It is 10% thinner and lighter than the previous version.
- It has a “flush-front” design with a back made of soft, grippy material instead of hard plastic.
- It’s a complete waterproof Kindle, like the high-end Kindle Oasis, and has a plastic screen that Amazon calls Vimu. And is scratch-resistant.
- It has built-in Bluetooth, so you can download Amazon ible double i diobooks and listen to them with wireless headphones.
Note that Amazon will be able to update the Kindle Paper White in 2020 (it was released in Nov. 2018). If and when that happens, it’s unclear how much it will cost to upgrade. For example, USB-C charging could be added and maybe the lighting scheme could be updated, but we wouldn’t expect any dramatic improvements. Read our Amazon Kindle Paper White (2018) review.

The latest iteration of Amazon’s entry-level ebook reader, which Amazon just calls the Kindle, now has a self-publishing screen and an upgraded design. At 90, this ebook reader costs 10 10 more than the previous model, the Kindle 2016, but this Kindle device regularly sells for as little as 60. We choose the Amazon Kindle Paper White, which has a higher resolution display (text and images look a bit sharper), is waterproof and has a slightly better lighting scheme. But if you don’t want to spend more for an e-reader, a standard Kindle is a good option, especially when it’s discounted.
The Kids Edition on sale here includes a case – there are options to choose a case case – along with the year of Amazon Kids Plus (Freetime Unlimited), which usually costs $ 3 a month and gives you access to hundreds of children’s books. Amazon Kids Plus includes the full Harry Potter series, and other popular series such as Artemis Fowl’s first book.
