Let there be light! Whether it’s light bulbs, light switches or accessories, smart lights are among the most popular smart home gadgets on the market. Some of this may have something to do with the fact that we use our lights more than anything else in our homes. Since you always use it literally, why not make things smarter during Amazon Prime Day 2020 Sales?
If you are tempted by the idea, then Prime Day prices can seal the deal – and, if you already have a smart lighting converter, then Prime Day is the best time to score some discounted bulbs and fixtures to make your home. Smart. Here we have the best deals so far – check back during Prime Day 2020 for updates as we look for more:
Amazon
Arrow is Amazon’s brand on the networking front, and it has a new mesh router up for sale with full support for Wi-Fi 6, the latest and most advanced version of Wi-Fi. That system, the Aero 6, won’t ship until November 2, but if you now want to order a 3-piece setup during Prime Day, Amazon will do it at its regular retail price at 279, Amazon will throw a free echo to sweeten the deal. Dot smart speaker and two Philips Hue bulbs.
There’s a nice little setup, as the new Ero Router has a built-in ZigBee radio that can connect those bulbs directly to your home’s Wi-Fi network without the need for a Philips Hue Bridge. This means that you can use Alexa and voice commands to turn them on and off, that’s where Echo Dot comes in.
Two warnings. Though. First, you won’t get a new, rounded echo dot – instead, it’s an earlier, absurd-shaped version of 2018. Second, this is a Hue White Ambience bulb, not a full color Hue bulb. That means you can change their color temperature between yellow, candle-like tones and warm, blue-white daylight tones, but you can’t put them on the RBB spectrum in red, green, blue or anything else. Speaking of the Hue, if you head to Best Buy for some counter-programming today, you’ll find the Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus and a 1-meter extension strip for the -60. That bundle is a total of 3 meters of smart-color-changing lights for $ 45 less than it normally costs.
Just know that this is an older version of the Hue Lightstrip, so it doesn’t include Bluetooth support and it can’t put more than one color at a time. However, if you’ve found some cabinets on the back of the TV that can benefit from a nice pop of accent color, this is probably worth a look.
GE Lighting
GE Lighting makes a convenient lineup of smart bulbs and smart lighting accessories, and many more bundles are on sale for Prime members today during Prime Day 2020.
One of your best mesh is a two color changing bulb, a color changing light bar, a wireless remote control that can turn them off, slow them down, or even change their color and smart plug. Total cost? About $ 86. If it were just a light bar and plug it would be a very good deal.
C by G.E. Lite uses Bluetooth to send and receive their signals and they can connect directly to Google Assistant for extra-Snappy VS control. They also work with Alexa, but you need a bridge device to connect with Amazon. Luckily, that’s where the Wi-Fi smart plug comes in. As long as you plug it in and connect it to your home network, it will act as a bridge device for your C through GE lights and let you connect to it. Alexa for easy voice control.
At any rate, this is a nice little bundle, and a perfect way to add some pizzas to the living room, play room or kids room. And if you don’t want a light bar or remote, you can also get two bulbs and a smart plug in the bul 38.
GE Lighting
Already have some C by GE Lights, and just want to add a smart plug to your setup in your cheap? Amazon Prime members can add one to their cart for only 10D for today.
Again, GE Lighting’s Wi-Fi smart plug will act as a bridge to your C via GE Bluetooth lights, allowing you to automatically connect them to Alexa, with lamps, coffee makers or whatever you plug into it. And yes, it also works with Google Assistant.
Wiz
Viz is a scrappy little lighting startup that makes some surprisingly appropriate smart bulbs – so appropriate that Philips Hue parent company Signify bought the brand last year and began selling the bulb as the “Philips Viz Connected” LED. These versions are pre-dated that re-brand, but are just as solid and capable enough to connect to Alexa or Google Assistant without the need for any additional hub hardware. And, if you buy them today at Best Buy, you can save a quick ઝડપી 8 on a 2-pack, bringing the cost per bulb to just 10 dollars.
Leviton
This smart dimmer switch from Leviton doubles as a living space for Alexa thanks to the built-in mic and speaker. Use it to replace the old light switch, and you’ll be able to control that light from your phone or with the command command – which includes the voice commands taken by the switch itself.
It’s up to you whether it’s a worthy upgrade or not, but it makes sense for Alexa Die-Hards. At Prime 80’s Prime Day prices, you’re saving 20 off the usual retail price.

Cree is a mainstay of the lighting wing (at least at home depots), and its bargain-priced smart bulbs have long been a quick and easy way to fill your home with bright, dim, automatic lighting. Now, for Prime Day, that deal is even better, as Cree has soft white smart bulbs marked down to 75% – only $ 3 per bulb.
Just remember that Krina’s smart bulb uses Zigby Radio to send their signals, so you’ll need a Zigby Hub to automate them. Amazon Echo Plus, second-generation Amazon Echo, Wink Hub and Smart Things Hub, will work with all options.
Meanwhile, regular, non-connected Cree LED light bulbs are on sale for Prime Day, with discounts of up to 40%. Read more on CNET.
