The Cubs are in Cincinnati tonight for their first of four games during the week, and this one won’t start on time thanks to bad weather in the area. We will update when there is a start time.
Jon Lester gets the ball for the Cubs in Game 1, making his debut in the 2020 regular season after a tough 2019 overall campaign. Of course, with just 60 regular-season games on the schedule, I think we all look forward it can warm up and stay warm long enough to take its place in the rotation. As for tonight specifically, you shouldn’t expect more than 80-85 pitches from the great Jon (that’s according to pitching coach Tommy Hottovy over the weekend), so I hope he can stretch it out in 5-6 innings.
You will be opposed by a left handed soft thrower, Wade Miley, who is the type of pitcher who has totally, never, not even once given the Cubs’ pain.
How about we chain a pair of Ws, huh?
