Potential strap hanger slithers on unidentified MTA platform

It’s a jungle out there.

A slingshot snake is Big Apple’s latest strap hanger, according to a video posted on Twitter every Sunday.

The black reptile with several feet slowly slid along an unidentified New York City Transit platform in the footage, and shuffled around while one person’s feet stood in the background.

“Being a #TrainOperator for @NYCTSubway I thought I saw it all, but this may not be real,” wrote the transit worker who posted the video, telling him that The Post was sent to him.

The snake may have appeared to be a non-venomous black Eastern Rat Snake, which can grow up to 7 feet long, according to the National Wildlife Federation. Their natural habitat typically extends from Connecticut to South Carolina and as far west as Kansas and Oklahoma, the federation said.

But don’t worry: They are generally harmless to humans, and would rather feed on rodents, frogs, and eggs than Big Apple commuters.

It is unclear when the snake appeared, but the MTA told The Post Sunday that it is investigating.
