Potential COVID-19 treatment, including convalescent plasma, approved by FDA is currently pending

HOUSTON – COVID-19 treatment tests containing plasma are being halted after top federal health officials said they needed more data.

Plasma is the yellow residue you see after blood comes out. According to researchers, potential life-saving antibodies live in the plasma of a person recovering from COVID-19.

The idea is that if a person who is sick with COVID-19 gets the anti-cancer plasma, she will recover. Doctors said it takes time to see how well this actually works.
