“At the end of the day, it all comes down to respect for other people,” says the musician whose lifestyle company donated masks to front-line medical workers.
Post Malone told Joe Rogan on Wednesday that he was against people who were forced to wear a mask during the coronavirus pandemic, but he believes everyone should wear one to stay safe.
Speaking in the Joe Rogan Experience In a podcast about how some California cities, such as Beverly Hills, have instituted fines of up to hundreds of dollars for mask breaches, the Grammy-nominated musician said he was baffled because the safety measure had become mandatory.
“It is as if I had to put my shirt on at school or they arrest you,” Malone said. “It is strange to be forced to wear something.”
Rogan noted that wearing a mask has an impact that stops the spread of the virus.
Malone replied, “At the end of the day, it all comes down to respect for other people. It is not a matter of the government. You shouldn’t be forced to wear a mask, but you should be. And that’s because I respect you as a human follower. ”
In May, Malone’s lifestyle brand, Shaboink, partnered with humanitarian aid organization Direct Relief to donate 40,000 N95 masks to frontline medical workers fighting the pandemic.
