The president of the United States, Donald Trump, released a video, recorded in the hospital, in which he says that he begins to feel better: “I think I will be back soon.”
In the four-minute video, which he posted on his Twitter account, Trump says he was “not feeling very well” when he was admitted to Walter Reed Military Hospital on Friday after a positive coronavirus test.
“I feel much better now, we are working hard to make a full recovery. I think I will be back soon and I can’t wait to finish the season as I started it.”
In the communication, he thanked the medical personnel who are treating him and the world leaders and US citizens who sent votes to improve, saying that he is fighting for the millions of people who have had the virus around the world.
“We are going to beat this coronavirus or whatever you want to call it,” the president said in the video, which has no date.
The American head of state also said that he could not be locked up in the White House. “I couldn’t leave, I couldn’t even go to the Oval Office,” said the president, considering that he had to “face the problem.”
He also defended that the experimental therapies he is receiving are a “miracle that comes from God.”
According to Trump, first lady Melania Trump is also “handling the issue very well” because she is younger. “A little bit younger,” added Trump, who is 24 years older than the woman.
On Friday Donald Trump, 74, announced on his personal page on the social network Twitter that, like the first lady, Melania, he had tested positive for coronavirus and would be in quarantine.
Hours later, he was admitted as a precautionary measure to the Walter Reed Military Hospital.
The United States is the country with the most deaths from covid-19 (208,731) and also with the most confirmed cases of infection (more than 7.3 million).
